The hard part about copying Apple in wearables isn’t the software. It’s the hardware. Yes another company theoretically could make hardware that has the same performance/power efficiency as the S1 series in the Apple Watch. But, no other company is going to spend the money since they don’t think they will recoup it. Just as most people who are willing to spend money on high end phones buy iPhones, the same is true for other wearables. Apple knows that it can recoup the up front costs of any research and development. |
