I think you're wrong. Running a thing in a slightly virtualized environment doesn't suddenly change the nature of the thing. I'd say embedded operating systems are more of exact opposites. A unikernel runs a single applications in a fully-capable system modern computer. An embedded OS does the opposite, being able to run multiple applications on a system that wouldn't be thought of as a "computer" (in the PC sense, not a literal one). |
