Back when I was 19 I learned you could steam vegetables in a rice cooker, you can actually live very cheaply if you don't eat meat. I think I probably spent about $10 a day on food, compared to now where I probably average between 30 to 60 a day

I rented the shittiest room in a shittiest shared house possible, so I could use some of the living allowance part of my financial aid for buying food. One summer the financial aid was a couple of weeks late, so I basically had to stretch what non-perishable food I had left until the money arrived.

When that check finally materialized in my account, I ran out to Pizza Boli's and ate two big cheese calzones in one sitting. I still love calzones.
