After growing pain I guessed was related to the wooden kitchen chair I was using in the study, I went to OfficeWorks to buy a basic office chair. After failing to be able to assemble it due to the holes being in the wrong place on the frame, I returned it and bought the cheapest proper office chair from a proper business furniture supplier. It was 3-4 times the price of the crap from a glorified K-mart, but it's been great.

(I also bought one of those "upright" mice that means your wrist isn't twisted all the time. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for the office, for the half day a week I'm there.)
