I'm convinced that the moment we're discovered we'll be either exterminated or "jailed" and kept around for scientific or entertainment purposes - at least until we've been digitised (or whatever their equivalent).

It is too easy for us to grow into a massive problem really quickly. It takes only one out of possibly many extraterrestrial species to understand that for the above or worse to happen.
