Years ago I heard of experimental elementary/high school classrooms where students were expected to watch lecture videos at home and what would be “homework” would instead be the focus of the whole time in the classroom. Students were expected to help each other with the material and only go to the teacher if they were collectively stumped. I can imaging all kinds of bad scenarios were someone tried to switch a disruptive class to this routine overnight. But, with good onboarding and ramp up, that plan sounded like a dream to me! |
