Just for the speed of large file, on macOS, I find the BBEdit is great too. The basic functions of BBEdit can be used for free even.

Happy to see another satisfied BBEdit user. Been my go-to Mac editor since Mac Plus.

I loved BBEdit and/or TextMate for the Mac. Both were great.

I switched to Sublime after I had to work on Linux machines for a while.
