Bloomberg reported yesterday that Texas’ lifting of restrictions had no noticeable effect on the already plateauing case numbers. Perhaps the herd immunity threshold does not require as high of a vaccination rate if enough people are immune from prior infection. Many people who were infected never took a test because of mild or no symptoms, so they don’t show up in statistics.
