I've found that one way to think about receiving difficult or challenging feedback is that people don't bother giving feedback to those they don't care about or don't have to work with again. It takes thought and emotional investment for someone to go to the trouble of giving such feedback. Of course, that only holds true in certain work environments where you have choices and consequences, and the person giving the feedback also has this mentality... |
