Ever since Twitter was seen to act in favour of one side politically than the other, I highly doubt it was just a 'glitch'.

You mean when they held a political leader to a much lower standard of good conduct than every other person on the platform is subject to including people on with opposing political views?
No, they just reinterpreted their policies to achieve the desired outcome (ie, permaban of said politician). It's amazing how flexible their policies are depending on who the subject is.
Well, back in june 2020 this account copied 45's tweets and was quickly banned:

That suggests that they actually stretched their policies to accommodate NOT banning a political figure - since a non-political figure was banned for the same content.
