It is worth it to Learn SAP?
2 points by rahul0611 1865 days ago
Currently, I have MBA (finance) education and now I want to work into IT stream.

I see an option in SAP finance module. Please let me know if there is another option. Can someone suggest an open source project which includes SAP? So that I can volunteer and listen about SAP. Please assist me.

Also any good resources for SAP?

And also did anyone tried any career Coach service ?

I haven't worked with SAP for several years, so my info may be out of date.

I learnt about SAP from a massive book, it was about 800 pages. I threw it out moving house a coupe of years ago. You could search Amazon for up to date reference books.

You would have to love working for enterprises and government bodies. That means putting up with politics, career progression challenges, etc.

You would also need a solid software engineering background. SAP systems are extremely complex and massive in scale. In my experience the multinational consulting firms specialise in configuring, installing and maintaining SAP installations. So working for one of those firms might be the best way to break into that field.

Since you have an MBA, another career entry option might be as a business analyst. https://www.iiba.org/ is a good entry point reference.

Thank you for response
