Scott Forstall ( he said it himself ) was pushing for Native Apps even before the launch of iPhone, Steve Jobs disagree and thought ( as Mark Zukerberg did ) that HTML 5 apps would take over, it would be easier to make, and just as good. Scott argued HTML5 will never be as good as native. And he was right. Then jailbreak happens, and Steve Jobs agreed to change. Copied the App Store model. And the rest is history. ( The App Store model exist long before Jailbreak in other 3G phones and market. So it isn't really new ) |
