If I lose my ssh key I lose access to any data on my server, too with no recourse and we are fine with that. It's a trade-off but some people can take care of their keys and prefer that risk which they've covered over a risk that a third party can take control which they can't cover. It's fine if you are not one of those people but not everyone has your needs. |

Do you? Most hosting setups will have other ways to get to the data.
