Ask HN: Would you find a hosted service to get the best image crop useful?

I've built a service that a couple of my projects rely on. It takes a url, scrapes the meta data and retrieves the open graph image url. Then, it allows you to choose an image size and it returns the best crop for that size. I found it useful in two recent projects and thought about making it available to anyone as a simple API, like a weather api or addtocalendar. Think its worth putting up and setting up accounts... card processing.. etc?

I think I've seen a feature like that in some image CDN services. Means there is some demand, but also the question if you can compete with their overall offering and pricing. Worth comparing maybe.
