Master/slave in the context of IT has absolutely nothing to do with slavery, black people, etc. So yes, it is political.

Actually there are legitimate arguments that master/slave in this context (IT) are precisely tied to slavery.
Yes, but not _black_ slavery. It's not inherently racist terminology.
Those legitimate arguments are themselves not in in the context of IT, though. They lie in the intersection of word semantics, etymology and the racial politics of the extreme left.

This can't possibly be true as stated. Even if it's a metaphor, it doesn't add anything over leader/follower or, say, playwright/actor.

Plus it sounds like a sex thing.
