They can be. For example you can lock them. This gives other opportunities than a tent. They give better protection against the elements. So the body will have less stress giving the mind more focus on planning ahead. Homeless people are in survival mode all the time. A tiny firm shelter can change that mode. This is also the reason why 'housing first' projects work. They take away the survival mode and make thinking about the future an option again. |
