I got Solidworks (CAD program) running on a Windows ARM VM with 64bit X86 emulation on my M1 Macbook Pro and it's still as fast as my dedicated Windows laptop. Some of that speaks to Solidworks performance in general, but I don't know how to make sense of this other than the virtualization on M1 Macs being so good it feels like magic. I don't know how I could recommend any other laptop in good conscious (Price to Performance). Happy to be kindly corrected in comments :) |
