Is there a video streaming service that has at least a limited form of moderation besides YouTube?

Ignoring politics, YouTube needs competition because its algorithms suck and remove uncontroversial videos, and Google support sucks so they don't get re-instated.

But an alternative platform needs moderation, at least for the practical reason that otherwise it gets over-loaded by trolls. Even if you believe in radical unconditional free speech, it's in your benefit to at least hide the provocative videos from your front page. If you really want to encourage free expression, you ultimately need to be friendly or you'll scare people away.

I agree, and what I've been chalking up ideas for is a set of 'bouncer-bots' - that people can employ - maybe a browser extension may part of the platform if that platform choosing to add 'filter by bouncer bots - list saved in account' or something.

This way you can have different filtering for different people - and the bots would be open and forkable - public discussion about them open - like the adblock lists maybe?

people would likely make easy choices - take the popular pg-13 bot - but you could clone it and remove keywords or top level urls from it to open up certain subjects that others might want buried.

More on this idea - open to other's thoughts to hone it - need to blog it instead of commenting about it when these things come up I guess, to be more thorough and collate comments for ideas to enhance.
