I upvoted you because, while you aren't correct in your assessment, I think this is a good "teachable moment". Human intuition about statistics is really, really bad. I think people who have a better-than-average understanding of statistics forget how bad their intuition is. I suspect it leads to a lot of incorrect assumptions about what a "rational" behavior for someone working from only their statistical intuition would be. |
