| Hey everyone! We're looking for a mobile engineer ASAP to help us at a our startup Showtime. We're backed by top funds and have runway - but we need to move fast. Showtime is crypto's social layer. Our mission is to onboard billions to crypto by building something familiar to people. The first step is to let users explore, like, and curate blockchain art. Later, we want to cover any media type via a decentralized protocol owned by its users. Each piece of content on Showtime is a NFT, unlocking new ways to monetize and incentivize content promotion. I'm personally known in crypto for the $ALEX token which I used to crowdfund $20k to move to SF, CA as a tech outsider, but it was clunky at the time and there was high trust assumptions (I could have ran away with the money). I found that NFT sales (and royalties) are a great beachhead to scale that model on-chain, trustlessly. React Native vs native is a contentious debate — we're flexible but seem to slightly prefer React Native as it's better for rapid prototyping, something crucial for our product. We are two cofounders and you will be one of our three founding engineers. We are remote-first. Why ASAP? 60% of our userbase comes from mobile, and retention is our north star metric. And push notifications is the best way to get people to switch from traditional social networks. We really think this could be one of the most valuable protocols in the world: if billions of people share the same social graph, then any developer could build a social network on top of it to let users play with it, and make money — with some fees for the UX built.
