They have a lot of money, and can easily store the radioactive waste, but - out of sight - out of mind for the Japanese. I lived in Japan for many years, and the feeling I left with was that the Japanese do not care about the environment. EDIT: Some do, but they are the minority, and easily dismissed by real Japanese. |
