It is British English and very common in the UK. That's why Linus claims he "named it after himself". Means bastard or horrid person, basically. Oddly enough, British people don't go around demanding git be renamed. We know how to handle words having multiple meanings. |

I'll keep that in mind though if I work with folks in the UK at some point.
