The University of California has already cloned itself. There are 10 campuses, 280,000 students, 227,000 faculty and staff. There is a common top level administration. There are grand goals for inclusion. Many undergraduate classes use common syllabus. California guarantees CA students with specified GPA will get into a campus, possibly not the student's first choice. The campuses are different both in location and majors. They have specialties, and different public perceptions.
