Physical media is dying. More people getting into vinyl doesn't change the tectonic shift towards digital and streaming that's killed off record stores and vinyl production facilities. Based on the Kickstarters I've seen, it's not easy or cheap for bands to produce a run of vinyl records. And even then, the finished product is expensive to purchase and ship. More so than a T-shirt or a concert ticket, which are higher-margin products by far. |
