Go around might be the only option available to you if you don’t want to quit your job. I have been lucky enough to experience only a few difficult co-workers in my career but a few of them were toxic beyond belief. And not even “rationally toxic” as in doing it to further their own interests (they would regularly sabotage themselves on top of sabotaging everybody else).
