With respect to the "casa" and "house/home" thing, in American English, at least as far as I understand it, "home" has become a replacement for "house", so that might explain why "casa" has been translated as "home".

I think it was originally done by the Real Estate industry to increase the emotional engagement the buyer felt with the house but then it just seems to have become the norm.

I see, didn't know that. Still, Casa is not a word for "Homepage" in spanish, just fyi
Btw, the word for home is Hogar
