After reading his deranged dribble, all the pieces came together:

After numerous occasions of him spewing his toxic delusional leftism all over GitHub's internal Slack, he was finally shown the door.

The take away is that he had enough entryist comrades internally to put the pressure on GitHub until they finally cratered and had to backtrack.

Be warned: fire activist employees early, or don't hire them at all. They will only end up costing you in the end, and will make your corporate culture a toxic cesspool.

Denouncing white supremacy is delusional leftism?
I get the impression the problem was someone misinterpreted and got incorrectly offended by his comments, then HR made a knee-jerk reaction without bothering to check the facts.
When "white supremacy" is anything right of Trotsky, math[1], acronyms[2], getting to work on time[3], objectiveness[3], etc., then yes, denouncing these things is delusional leftism.
