All it takes is one hit traced to a misconfigured VPN or browser, for example, to learn an IP address and thus real user, at least from a law enforcement perspective… though I suppose the same is true for any honeypot links. Same goes for checking your “anonymous” email, unless the provider is only accessible to check email on Tor, for example.
