Well, while the article is generalizing the issue a bit,I have to agree. I've been the passionate worker and all I got was a small paycheck, 28 kilograms of extra weight, and the worst two years of my life. Provided that I was fresh out of college back then, it took me a more than a year to realize that I was being exploited. Now I'm not a passionate worker but I'm not lazy as well. I show up, do the best I can do, and when my shift is over I'm out. I make almost 6 times what I made 3 years ago, my new employer is extremely content with me and I have all the time energy to do what I'm really passionate about. |
