I highly recommend messing around with yabasic[0] a bit,
runs on windows and (probably) most unix-likes, and even offers graphics capabilities right out of the box! I feel like this would've been a great batteries-included environment to start in, back when I started programming. [0] http://www.yabasic.de/ |
