I think if you are a good worker you will end up managing other people. Whether that be devs, engineers or researchers. Managing other people is hard work. I think of it as a privilege. After 25 years in IT I am now more interested in people than hardware/software. Some of my highlights have been seeing people get jobs which changed their lives. So I would say invest in learning about management/leadership. |
