Single family zoning is par for the course in most of the US, and it's not a particularly partisan issue. California just got bad before a lot of other places: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/12/business/economy/californ... Some places, like Houston, do a bit better through a combination of no official zoning and massive sprawl, but by and large, California isn't too far off the rest of the country. |
