Speaking as someone surrounded by fragments of unfinished projects—many of which I abandoned after discovering they could never be what I wanted them to be, or simply didn’t have the confidence to even attempt that—I can say I can’t exactly blame him for never finishing them, even if we wish he had.

I am no Edward Said, but I find something a little comforting about this; like yeah, even this guy had trouble putting his stuff out in the world.
