There’s a less drastic compromise: Power company sends a text one day ahead of expected stress, with news that tomorrow’s price will be 3x normal. Enough to focus customer attention, but without threat of financial ruin. SDG&E, in California, offers such a plan (layered on top of conventional TOU terms). |
