It gets kind of convoluted as to what’s acceptable and what’s not. My comment was addressing another upstream that said something like “ No one said concentration camps in China were fine” In this situation should Disney put a preroll that says “While we filmed this movie in an area where people are being oppressed and gave financial support to the oppressors, we don’t support concentration camps?” I’m not sure I understand what reasoning Disney is using to put a preroll before a muppet episode where someone dresses as a gypsy. Or even a generic warning around a specific episode where someone sings in front of a confederate flag in a way that sounds pretty racist. It seems like Disney has made a decision that one situation requires one and the other doesn’t. Personally, this is why I don’t pay much attention to these things and don’t draw conclusions based on them. They are so cloudy and subjective, it becomes hard to try to address all the hypotheticals. |
