I've lived here for 10 years, so I might be a little biased. Monterrey is by far the most "americanized" city in Mexico, no doubt, and it's mostly a business and industrial hub. As for tourism, there’s not much to do, at least not when compared to other Mexican cities with more heritage and culture. Being a big metropolitan city, there are many fine restaurants and entertainment attractions, and for me the stand-out landmark is Chipinque, a federal park in the mountains inside the city. You can go there to walk, hike, or ride, and you get a very nice view of the metropolitan area. All in all, if you were making a tourist trip to Mexico, I’d recommend you pick some place else before coming to Monterrey. However, if you get to come here as a business trip, you’ll definitely have a nice time! |
