Virtually all telephony in Australia is now GSM/VoLTE or VOIP. If you try to take a classic copper landline service, you're heading to VOIP in almost any city, due to the NBN. That would account for the bandwidth caps: its QAM layed over digitally wave-formed audio, put into IP packets. |
