Hydrogenated vegetable oils are mostly outlawed in the US now. (They are on labels as "trans fats".) They were supposed to be entirely eliminated by 2018, but corporations have got FDA waivers to continue selling poison. Fred Kummerow spent his whole career, from 1957 until he was 98, getting trans fats out of stuff sold as food. In India and Brazil people are still trying to stop it. |
