Even across the US, it's hard. Basecamp is an outlier. Now, in practice, a fair number of companies probably don't have large systematic salary adjustments by US location, including remote generally. But they mostly do it by just not paying market rates in the highest paying markets like the Bay Area and, especially, not going toe-to-toe with the likes of Google and Facebook. |
