You need some kind of documentation or a video demonstration. It's not at all obvious how to make an animation with this.

Yep, I've created multiple frames, altered them, hit play and nothing...

It's a bit mysterious.

You need to hit the disk icon (save) on your frames to commit the changes you make to them.
