Haha, I was thinking this as well. But to their credit, they're doctors so presumably knew the patient wouldn't have an issue if the defib deactivated in that moment, and they were there in case anything bad happened. An implantable defib, for anyone who doesn't know, is more like a safety device in that it monitors and responds to events versus something like a pacemaker which needs to be on an responding at all times.
