I left the IT industry just over a year ago and have some observations. Hopefully they will bring a smile and some encouragement to the stressed.

- Devs can be dicks to each other

- Managers can be dicks to devs and vice versa

- Devs need to get outside more, not just when travelling to work

- Devs should look up and not play games at lunchtime

- Devs should not eat their lunch at their desk

- Devs should enjoy good coffee but not be weird about it

- Devs should mix with others in the company, even sales and admin

- Devs should leave their work at work

- Devs should go outside to places where they can find a partner

- Devs should say hello to people when they arrive in work

- Devs should say goodbye to people when they leave work

- Devs should either walk, run, climb, garden, chop wood, sail, fish, build and/or go out for dinner at the weekend.
