Be careful: a PhD is a lot of admin, grant applications, grunt work and fixing other people's problems. The amount of actual research or teaching varries a lot by school and team. It might be worth saving up some leave and seeing if you can do 2 weeks of work experience in a lab before you quit and commit to 3+ years... |
