It is kind of funny that conservatives have been working to privatize every aspect of the 'public square' for decades, so that this very thing could happen--'public' spaces would be subject to corporate control, and therefore rights normally protected by the government could be constrained. This has been the project for decades now. Lax enforcement of antitriust regulations, siphoning public funds to private institutions, selling off public resources, etc, etc. Now they are crying when the result of their own ideology is biting them in the ass. |
