Thanks for the link. Anecdotally in our hospital only one patient to my knowledge has survived after a higher dose of dexamethasone (this was only used after the patient was worsening despite the standard 10 days of 6 mg dexamethasone). Whether this helped them or they were going to improve despite can't be known. I would also be careful about how you use the term atypical, in fact most patients with COVID are typical and improve with the standard treatment. :) |
