I see the potential, but if they’re not you’ll damage your reputation and you won’t help your work either. Of course, if you don’t care, they made a hiring error in getting you, and it’s metastasizing. Which could happen.

It’s way cheaper for them than the external recruiter fee which has the same incentive problem too.

Yeah, one of the best companies I worked for had a referral payout. It was primarily because they were growing so rapidly and were having trouble finding good people.

The referral only got paid out after the person passes the 3 month probation period.
