Huge thanks for such a comment. This is why I love HN. As about consoles AMD likely just losing a lot of money on them simply because both Sony and Microsoft most likely have decade-long contracts that heavily limit AMD margins. There are reasons why Nvidia don't try to compete on this market. |

Maybe not at the high-performance end, but the Nintendo Switch is powered by an Nvidia Tegra X1, and they won that contract largely by proving the concept in their own Nvidia Shield “microconsole”.
