Ask HN: How likely are you to not received a product from Kickstarter/Indiegogo?

I backed two years ago a KS campaign. I'm not getting anything and their customer support doesn't reply. I'm starting to think that I'll never receive my product. Is it possible/legal?

2 things j funded via Kickstarter never worked. One gave full refund. The other gave some people a few peices they had made then took the money and ran. Learned my lesson to never back something unless your fine losing your money and never getting anything
I used to work with some guys who were really into kickstarter. It seemed about 50/50 on if the stuff they funded turned out to be complete vaporware. Some of the stuff they got was pretty cool though. I got the impression that some stuff never shipping is part of the deal with those sites.
isn't it something like a scam?
What exactly did you think you were doing when you backed the Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is not an online store that you buy something and it just takes a long time for you to receive.

You are essentially investing in an idea and in a company. You have to do the due diligence to make sure you are comfortable with the risks involved. That’s why, in theory, you pay cheaper than you would once the product launches.

You should know what you are buying into before you do it. If you are not comfortable with the risk, the course of action is to wait until the desired product/service hits the market and is actually sold somewhere.
