> Although Apple has not included Touch ID on a flagship iPhone since the iPhone 7

I’m confused. My iPhone 8 doesn’t have facial recognition and it makes me put in my passcode when my hands are wet after doing the dishes, but unlocks on touch otherwise. Am I misunderstanding some very specific tech branding thing that I missed?

The iPhone 8 has Touch ID but wasn’t Apple’s flagship phone at its release – the iPhone X was the flagship at the time.
