With technologies that we have today, I wonder whether train horns should still be controlled by train/locomotive driver/engineer? Using GPS/devices, one should be able to re-play horn sounds that are pre-recorded based on location and driving speeds of the train, and measured with sound-level detection devices along the tracks. This can ensure accurate level of sounds required to have public safety, and likely prevent horn sounds that goes too loud. What do you think of this idea? |
